Online Partner add-on

Version used Zen Cart 1.3.7

I have a new client who would like to integrate an online partner module to Zen Cart. I am new the Zen Cart and haven't found anything on the forum that matches what the client needs.

When a customer views a product on the current Zen Cart our client would like to have the following options added to the page.

• Add to Cart (current Zen Cart setup)
• Buy online from partner (when clicked it would take you to a partner list and by clicking on a specific partner you would be taken to the exact product on the partner's website).

We are also integrating a dealer locater into the website as well. If we could combine the partner option with the dealer locater we'd have the best solution.

Our client said that an out of the box solution is fine. We just need to find out what will work well with Zen Cart.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

...and what happens if I have added a product from the store and then I click a partners link?

Let's just use Norton Internet Security for the purpose of conversation.

Let me see if I've got this right........your client wishes to have the products (Norton Internet Security) in his store with the option to buy from him (Add to Cart Button) AND the option to buy the exact same product straight from Norton (Symantec)?

And if this IS what you client wants, then you don't need any other software.
When you're creating the new product (Norton Internet Security), down almost at the bottom of the product creation page, you will see a place to add a URL for that product. When you add that URL, it will put a link at the bottom of your product listing page pointing to the URL that you entered. The link will say "For more information, please visit this product's webpage."

That text, of course, can be changed to something like (Purchase this product from our Partner).

Basically, the client wants to give their customers an easy link to other online stores that carry their products.

For example: A customer finds the product they want to buy on the client website. The customer could buy it online from the client directly or click a link to their partner company (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) and have the opportunity to buy it from them online. The link would go directly to the product on Best Buy's website.

What if I need to add more than one partner to the list? It seems that I'll only be able to add one per product.

Could you not just place the links inside your product descriptions.. or do they need to be further down the page?

They could, but the client would like to have them further down the page and have them integrate into the design like the Add to Cart button.

Right now the description section has a scroll bar and customers wouldn't see anything at the bottom of the descriptions section.
