Can't edit on payment modules page?

When I open the payment modules admin, I see the basic ones listed.

I can't edit any of them - when I click, I don't get the box opening to the right.

I also don't see my paypal stuff. Was going to turn off the paypal, since customers had been grouching that they wanted to pay with a credit card, but the Paypal stuff was the first thing they saw... Paypal orders are coming thru tho...

I'm worried something may have been trashed on the server. Any ideas?

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

Just to elaborate, there is no edit button visible (and I did check to see if the entire window was visible).

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

The edit feature appears to have gone bye-bye... Also cannot see my paypal and credit card stuff. The paypal and credit card stuff still appears to be functional. What happens if I "reload" the admin folder from the install stuff? Store is maybe two weeks old.

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

Any ideas? Does anyone know what file this is run out of? The "edit" function seems to work okay for everything else. Just this one page.

Your description isn't clear and contradicts itself. Perhaps re-explaining what's wrong might empower someone to be inspired to suggest an answer.

It sounds like you've made some sort of change, whether to files, admin settings, database content, or installing an addon/contribution/template that's broken something.
Perhaps reverting to a backup from prior to these symptoms might help?

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

Well, Doc, not sure just what the problem causing the problem is...

Well, say I click on the payment modules menu. I see the modules column, the sort order column, the orders status column, and then the action column. And that's it. No little green e dots, and no "edit or change stuff" menu to the right of the columns. So I can't add, change or remove payment modules.

I replaced the whole zencart/admin/ folder, with no luck. Problem's somewhere else.

Stuff appears to be working okay from the user side. Getting orders, but I've got customers who are irritated by paypal and since the default paypal stuff is a brighter color than the "go to checkout" button, they've been clicking it (or just clicking "back") instead of proceeding in the direction that would get 'em to the credit card stuff...

I've got the Big Black Book, and I'm trying wade through it, but this is driving me nuts.

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

Well, I'm lost... I'm trying to figure out which file controls the admin/modules/payment stuff, and what I've looked at so far doesn't look to have been changed from the original install files. My backed up files didn't change anything either, but I didn't just do a complete copy back. If I do that, I may as well just reinstall the sucker for... I think... the 8th time... I am getting pretty good at repopulating the catalog... As seen in the screen shot, no menu to the right side of the screen, which means no way install/uninstall stuff... Does anyone have an idea what controls that? That might narrow the search some?

Strange thing is that paypal still appears to be running for orders, even tho it is not visible.

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

Looks like you have errors in one or both of the module directories:
/includes/modules/payment
/includes/languages/english/modules/payment

Usually this is the result of having language files in the code directory or code in the language directory ...

Or, you might have duplicate (backups) of a module ...

Check what files are in those directories ...

From what I can see there are no PayPal modules listed or they are broken or the files (this is an autoloading directory) loading before them are broken ...

Generally, just reloading the directories can fix a world of problems ...

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

Gholly... I'd already reloaded everything in the admin folder. So I went over to The Other Side, and started reloading, looking for something that was different... Sometime along the way, I'd loaded my Old-linkpoint-api.php back to the modules folder... Nuked it, and things work...

Donut recipe, learned from Col. Louis Grivetti, my scoutmaster (he'd been a POW in WWII, and was pretty much only into -comfortable- camping...) about 35 years ago.

Get a few cans of the cheap small biscuits. I buy the little red ones that come in four packs, and tend to avoid "buttermilk." The large flaky things are a no-no.

Put a pan on the fire. Put plenty of vegetable oil or crisco in it. If it smokes, move it to a cooler spot.

Take donuts out of the cans, and poke holes in them.

Fry 'em until they're a comfortable looking brownish tan. They poof out real good. After the first one, you'll probably stretch out the others.

Drain on paper towels.

While still hot, drop in large paper bag filled with cinnamon and sugar. Use too much cinnamon. Add a little more. Tip that sucker! (cuss under breath) Okay... That's fine... Now add a little more sugar... Okay... Toss the donuts in, shake, and serve while still hot (altho they're even good somewhat stale).

Oh, and I'm sippin' on some tasty Hawaiian, but someone now has enuf for a cup or two of that wretched Starbucks stuff...

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

OK now I've got a similar problem. Only half (not even) of the modules are showing -- down to COD (which I'm not using). Clicking on any of these won't allow me to edit them. Where can they have gone? Funny thign is everything else seems to work fine.

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

I reloaded the directories you suggested but it had no effect. I'm using the latest ZenCart.

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

I've solved this. There was one of the modules which for whatever reason cuased this to happen. I just checked where the view cropped off then deleted the enxt module in the list and hey presto all the others cam back.

Re: Can't edit on payment modules page?

I had the same problem and it's because I had a backup (with a slightly different name) of a payment module file in the includes/modules/payment directory!

I deleted the file and everything went back to normal. So just make sure there's no stray junk in your directory.
