subscribe to newsletter

Is there a way to add a link on the main page to subscribe to my newsletter. The only place I can find it is when a customer has made a purchase and checked out. I'd like them to be able to subscribe without buying something.

Does the Mod your site (haredo) allow the subscriber to be added to an external newsletter? I use PHPList but I don't have it integrated with my Zen Cart. Currently I have a link on my main page to subscribe to the newsletter.

No, It does not sort them out differently:(

Darn ... okay I will keep doing what I am doing.

Do you know anything about the PHPList integration? I have read about it but I am afraid to even try it for fear it will not work properly. Seems there are bugs but I don't know?

I would like the check box for the newsletter subscription to default to ticked rather than unticked because I sometimes wonder if some of my customers are being a little lazy and juts not bothering to read through the account registration form properly and are missing out.
