[done v1.3.9] Coupon by manufacturer

Is there a way to create a coupon for a manufacturer only? Do I have to make all the manufacturer products into a category and then restrict that category? Is there any other way to do it?
Also, if I do make the products into a category and then link the to another category, would the coupon still work for that manufacturer?

At this time you would need to make a category for this to work ... there isn't a way to do it directly by manufacturer any other way ...

I have put products into their own manufacturer category but the coupon is not working? I put the restrictions to allow only that category but it is still taking the coupon on all products. Is there something else I should try?

I'd really like to know how to do this also.

We did the above as well, by copying all products by manufacturer into the new category we made for manufacturer's. But the coupon wasn't working as it should... any ideas?

I am thinking there is a bit of a umm ... gulp ... bug here ... :eek:

It would appear there is an issue on the categories_id value, based on indexes, interferring with the current logic that is conflicting on the multiple linked products ... :cry:

I am moving this over to the Bug Reports for further review on correcting this issue ...

The code suggestion to fix zen_get_product_path() given here...

...fixes the bug with coupons not using a product's master category for restrictions.
