Show stock quantity at top level

When a user clicks on a catagory and it then lists all my items under that catagory they are allowed to update how many of that item they would like to purchase.

But what it doesnt tell them is how much of that item is available. The only way they can know how many are available is to actually click on the item and go to the item description page.

Is there a way to show stock quantity on the page that lists all items for that catagory?

This is my first time installing Zen Cart. I think i've figured everything else out and even read the 400 page Zen Cart install pdf. I just cant seem to find where I can change this setting.

It is not a setting -

One would have to edit the module file sql to make this value available in the array and ten the tpl file for the product listing to use it.

Unfortunately not as this is custom work and trying to have a guide for everything custom is not possible

You can show the quantity in stock on the Product Listing page by simply turning the field(column) on from your Admin> Configuration> Product Listing> Display Product Quantity

Go to Admin>Catalog>Product Types

On the row that has Product-General (or whichever product type you want to change), click the Edit Layout button

Change Show Quantity in Stock to True
