How to eliminate registration requirement?

Thanks. Yes, I have been thorooughly reading this thread. HOwever, his links for the downloads are no longer active. And, I cannot find this mod in the download section

I was able to download it from the Wiki site for Zen Cart. I believe the download is only for version 1.38a

Yes, I found out that the 1.3.7 version is no longer available and no one has a copy (so far). Being in the IT industry for 15 years, it is really frustrating that all of these hundreds of mods for Zen cart , many are not compatible with the earlier versions they were originally produced for. I mean how many times are we expected to upgrade? Everytime a mod is released or upgraded?? Yikes!!

no one is twisting your arm and making you upgrade.

however if you want a product that gets better and better then you should upgrade, but once again the decision is totally yours.

Well, yes, if you're using that mod. Mod upgrades aren't usually that difficult to make happen. As an IT professional, I would assume you'd upgrade Zencart whenever a new version comes out, especially considering that many have security fixes. Standard policy where I work.

Yes, good advice. I need to train myself on doing an upgrade anyway. My hosting company did my last one for me.

But then again, my big concern with upgrading to 1.3.8 is now will all my other mods work:

Cross Sell Mod
Testimonial Mod
Image Handler
etc, etc ?
Any easy way to determine what mods are working with 1.3.8? Will they need to be re-installed?

Good point - I'm not sure if there's any sure-fire way to tell. One thing I do is to look at the last release date of the mod - if it's after the Zencart version date, I figure it'll work. Searching for the mod in question in the forums would help, too.

I've always thought that newcomers to Zencart get a little mod-happy. Only installing those mods which do exactly what you need done is probably a good idea.

I only have two (soon to be three) mods that I really do use. But, don't know what future needs will dictate..
