Problems installing Easy populate Advanced

Hi,
Could someone please help me?
I purchased Easy populate Advanced over a month ago from zencartbuilder.com, i still can't use it because i can't manage to install it correctly. I followed all installation instructions over and over again, unsuccessful!

I have been in contact with support on zencartbuilder.com, they said that they would assist with the installation, they even asked me for my ftp codes and admin login and pass, but i haven't heard from them since. I've sent numerous e-mails, i'm really desperate, i really need to get Easy populate Advanced working, that's the least you ask when you have paid for something.

Does anyone have a similar situation, any ideas on how i resolve this issue?

Cheers

bazfr:(

Re: Problems installing Easy populate Advanced

Hi,
Thanks so much for answering.

When i go to tools and click on Easy Populate i either get a blank page or an Internal Server Error.
When i go to Configuration and click on Easy Populate i get a blank page.

My easypopulate_config.php file looks like this:

<?php /* Easy Populate Config File */ /** * UPLOADS DIRECTORY SECURITY ENHANCEMENT * * The following setting is set to restrict the adjustment of the location for your uploads directory. * It does this by preventing store admins from changing the upload directory location. * This is for your own good as it prevents the potential execution of scripts uploaded by malicious users * and prevents deletion by store admins of Zen Cart application files. * * It is recommended that you do not alter $uploads_security * * If $uploads_security = true: You MUST set the path to your uploads directory ($secure_dir). This will over-ride * the setting in Zen Cart Admin. Ensure that the uploads folder resides outside a publicly viewable web folder for added * security. You cannot have an uploads folder anywhere in the store directory tree in this mode. * Eg (linux): $secure_dir = '/home/username/uploads/'; * Eg (windows): $secure_dir = 'D:/path/to/myuserspace/uploads/'; * * If $uploads_security = false: you can install your uploads directory in a publicly viewable web folder. * Ensure that you include the .htaccess file and the index.html files provided. Uploads directory is set in admin, and * not by $secure_dir below, which is over-ridden in this mode. * * DO NOT COMMENT OUT OR REMOVE $uploads_security. YOU CAN ONLY USE: $uploads_security = true; OR $uploads_security = false; * */ $uploads_security = false; $secure_dir = '/home/username/uploads/'; /* * * END UPLOADS DIRECTORY SECURITY ENHANCEMENT * **/ ?>

Check in your websites control panel and see what it says there for an error. Chances are you will see a 500 error.

Re: Problems installing Easy populate Advanced

I have installed Easy Populate Advanced on my site , but it's not working. The think is when i have imported the product file it said "upload successfully" but the products not in the catalog. Nothing shows up on the site. I've been trying to get a question answered and submitted multiple support tickets to zencartbuilder.com, but no responds from them. The help desk on this site is disabled. There is no such information in the manual as well. So, here i'm am, stuck with this problem and can't get any help from zencartbuilder The people should know what to expect from zencartbuilder.com before they're buying this program. If you're willing to burn your time and money, then this program is for you. Does anyone have any success on using this program?

Re: Problems installing Easy populate Advanced

batas4 - Langer usually replies to request I have seen several people saying that they do not get replies, but they do seem to get sorted in the end, bare with it I am sure he will

To try to help you, if EPA works like EP you do need some products in the database already before using EP, as ZC doesn't respond to imports from EP until this is the case. So enter some products via ZC and see if that work's ?
Do you get any error's?

I am on ZenCart Version 1.3.9f and I read in the Zencart Builder store that the EPA 3.0.3 works with versions 1.2.4 through to current (1.3.8).

I emailed them asking them if it had been updated and tested to be working with 1.3.9f, but I have not received an answer - I sent that email maybe a week and a half ago.

I have read a few people have been having problems, so I am afraid of buying the program. I need to see some more information of people resolving their issues before I jump on it :)

That version is old as heck 2 or 3 years. Look in the downloads area listed above on this page to see if you can find something that fits your need for free.

Each is basically the same with slightly different uses. Plus all are supported online here pretty well so problems always seem to get fixed.

Re: Problems installing Easy populate Advanced

Easy Populate Advanced work with Zen Cart 1,39 with no problems. I have it working on 4 Zen Cart 1.39 stores everything works.

Easy Populate doesn't override any Zen Cart files so most of the updated files don't affect the easy populate advanced.

Even though it is 3 years old I am yet to find a better version in managing large database (200K parts). It is also very easy to edit if you know your basic Zen Cart structure or create additional export files for Bing or any other Shopping Sites.

You can also export based on product_id not just model_id which is very helpful if you have multiple parts with the same model_id.

There is no longer support for the advanced version, last I heard the developer was having health issues. But the software is perfect the way it is so no need to fix something that isn't broken.

Look in the free section thread there are thousands of posts. Which might mean that it is not so perfect. If it was perfect then there would be no need for all that support.

Nothing against the free version but it just doesn't do quite as much as the paid one.

Re: Problems installing Easy populate Advanced

There is a software called "Store Manager for Zencart" by a company called MagneticOne.com who are based out of Ukraine. I do have some Ukrainian programmer friends here in the US who are wizards in programming, really smart guys.

The company sells their product for $149. I downloaded their Demo version - looks nice but haven't played with it yet.

Does anyone have an opinion about this software - has anyone used it?

Thanks

Re: Problems installing Easy populate Advanced

I tried it years ago but if possible stair away from magnetic modules as they require a lot of server configuration to make them work and each module will download ton of files and folders on the server.

I didn't find any advantages in the Store Manager, or any commands that can't be done in EPA.
