How to create Featured Products

Must be a really easy question but can someone tell me how to make a given product "featured" so that it displays in the "featured products" area.

Very easy -- you'll cringe when you hear. :D

Go to Admin - Catalog - Featured Products. Click on "new product" and then select the product you want to be featured. If you want to have it start and stop on certain dates, enter those as the available and expiry dates. Click "insert" and you're done!

(And don't ask how long it took ME to find that setting.)
