Can I locate my 'Add to Cart' button in the Right Column?

Hi...
I've read the extensive threads on changing the location of the shopping cart button, and have followed the recommendations of GJH42 in an attempt to move my cart. I'm using the Nightfall template, however, and although the code referred to in Glenn's post's is in the classic template, it does not seem to be in the Nightfall template - and changing the code in the classic template does not seem to affect my site. Perhaps I misunderstand how the templates interact.
I would like to move my cart into the right column of my single sidebar site. Can I do that?

Secondly: I have both 'Include Product Listing Top Categories Image' and 'Include Product Listing Sub Categories Image' set to 'Fasle' in admin, and although there is no 'Top Category' image on my Sub-Category pages, I still get the 'Sub-Category' image at the top of the Product pages. What am I missing?
Thanks to all

Re: Can I locate my 'Add to Cart' button in the Right Column?

When your custom template (/nightfall/) is active, all /classic/ files will be completely ignored. If there is not a copy of a file the program wants in /nightfall/, it will look in /template_default/ for it.
Did you mean that the file is not in the /nightfall/ folders? If so, you can copy it from /template_default/ and edit it in your custom folder.

Moving the add to cart button to the sidebar will be difficult, because it is part of a form called in the center column code. You might be able to achieve it using absolute positioning, but that would require very careful planning to avoid interfering with other elements.

The settings you mention affect listing pages, but not the product info page. If this is where you still see the category image, you need to change a setting in Configuration > Product Info.

Re: Can I locate my 'Add to Cart' button in the Right Column?

Glenn....
Thanks for the quick response, and for your generous help.
I guess I'll leave the cart button where it is.............
With your help, I've turned off the navigation image at the top of my products pages - but now the product info and image are crowding the EzPages bar - is there a simple way to introduce some space at the top of the center column, above the product listing?
Also, can I change the font and location of the 'Model #, Shipping Weight, and Units in Stock' group.
Thanks

.centerColumn {padding-top: 1.5em;}

might give you the space you want. There are other possible places to put that padding if you want finer control over when it appears.

The group you mention is "product details", and you can move the code block for that to your desired order in tpl_product_info_display.php. The font can be styled with
#productDetailsList {}
