percentages in special prices

Is there a documented way of replacing Save: x% off with the actual amount discounted when using the special price offer? I guess that this would mean coding for actual price minus the special price figure and reporting to the display.

If you go into your Admin panel and click Configuration and then Click Product Info you can then choose from the menu Product Info - Show Sales Discount Savings Dollars or Percentage

Choose dollars ( or pounds or whatever currency you use )
