Category Copy Assistance Needed

I am trying to totally duplicate all of the products in one category and put them into another one. I know I would need to make the new category first.

However, short of doing each product individually, all I can see that I would be able to do is do a bulk link to a new category. But I do not want the products to be linked, I just want them copied - bulk (because there is a slight change that the products will have in the new category).

I have done a search of the forums, but have not seen the answer to this question.

Hoping somebody here might be able to enlighten me.

The only quick way that I know of would be to install Easy Populate. Export your existing products. Delete all but the ones you want to duplicate. Change their product model (so that they are treated as new products rather than updates), and of course their category (the point) and reload the resulting data to your Zen Cart.

Spot-On Kuroi...

I did this recently with over 400 products - it took 40 minutes from start to finish.

Yeah, well that would probably be more work than just enterng them all in individually. Thanks for the reply though.

This would be a good feature for a future update though. Is there a suggestion box around here?

Hi Chris,

How do you do a bulk link?

Thanks
