PayPal updates for Business Class Merchants

Hopefully, someone can integrate these into the PayPal Payment Pro.

Products & Features: Fraud Management Filters PayPal’s Fraud Management Filters (FMF) can help merchants reduce fraud and chargebacks. These filters flag, review, or deny payments based on settings chosen by the merchant, allowing the merchant to place a hold on potentially fraudulent transactions.
Free Fraud Management Filters are already available to PayPal customers with Business accounts created after January 25, 2008. Customers with Business accounts established before January 25, 2008 have Risk Controls – and will migrate to Free FMF in May 2008.
Merchants with Website Payments Pro can also purchase the Advanced FMF package, which includes a wider range of transaction evaluation criteria, including:

  • AVS address match
  • Card security input
  • Billing/shipping address
  • Suspected freight forwarder check
  • IP address velocity
  • IP address range check
  • Zip code check
  • Email address domain check
  • Bank Identification number check
  • Total purchase price minimum
  • PayPal fraud model Integration Updates
If your merchant clients wish to use FMF, you may need to update their integrations. For example, if a merchant turns a rule on to “pend” transactions in FMF, you may need to modify some APIs. To receive the full FMF payment status (accept, pending, deny) and the list of filters that triggered the response API, you’ll need to make small changes to the merchant’s API settings. In addition, after reviewing a transaction, a merchant can now make an API call to accept or deny the payment. With FMF replacing Risk Controls in May, you have time to complete these changes. For more information on FMF integration or to determine whether your client’s integration needs updating, view the Fraud Management Filters Guide.
