Changing category link look in classic?

One of the feedbacks I've gotten is that it's not immediately intuitive just what to click (granted, the test subject was a "you're gonna need a bigger cluebat" kinda guy). How do I make the text in the side box, etc., look more like a "you gotta push this to go somewhere" button?

It's hard to be more specific without a link to your site, but how about changing the a:hover color in your stylesheet which will change the color of the text when the cursor is positioned on it.

Well, it's basically the plain classic template - https://www.stickertramp.com/zencart/

Re: Changing category link look in classic?

Is there any easy way to turn the category list into a list of buttons?

You can use the stylesheet to give the categories backgrounds and borders so they look like buttons. You might try Categories Dressing to guide the way for that.

You could also see if any of the free templates will give you the look you want. You can see them in action at http://(sorry, site offline)/.
