Totally Zenned
You mean services like "consultancy time"?
Basically, you set them up as "products".
You may need to edit many of the "labels" (define statements), and will probably have to disable the display of ots of stuff that may otherwise display (product weight, items in stock...)

thanks on the reply. thats good to know for my other company but in this instance i was hoping for a module already created or something close to it. to bring in a cash i've a dog camp (overnight boarding) and would like for the people wanting the service make a reservation and secure it with a credit card. so a service module would be great. i guess a webhosting module might be the a service?

You may find that Joomla is more appropriate with the JOMBOK component. This facilitates bookings, and there's a PayPal module that will take payment.
I also wish that Zencart had a "calendar" feature, such as JOMBOK, that facilitated bookings / reservations.
... but it doesn't.
