Mecurymail-help

Hi!

I have some problem setting up a zen cart store on my testserver using Xp Pro. I use the Xampp package that they also use in the Book "e-start your web store with ZenCart". The problems starts when i start the Mercurymail server. I set up a local domain on my computer and configure the Apache and Mercury files as shown in the book.

After changing the Mercury.ini file with:

myname example.com #canonical name for this server

and

and added a line after localhost : localhost.com

with this line example.com : example.com-

in the same .ini file. I start the mercury mailserver from Xampp controlpanel to send a testmessage to see if the Mercuryserver is configured the right way towards my local domain example.com. Now the browser cant show anything. Just the usual message:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

When i turn off the Mercurymail server in Xampp, then everything works ok again except the Mercurmail. Anyone knows a solution to this problem?

Thanks!

Re: Mecurymail-help

I had lots of problems using that particular version of XAMPP. I switched to version 1.6.3a and haven't had any problems since. I had thought that maybe there was some particular conflict with my system, but couldn't pinpoint it.

Re: Mecurymail-help

The version I'm using is a newer version, not an older one.

Re: Mecurymail-help

Ok. I´ll tried first with version 1.6.5. That version didn´t work. I´ve installed an older version and all works fine now. Thanks for your help.
