Question about product stock

My store is not going to be 100% an in stock store, so for those products where I don't have stock on hand I still want to show as available. Is there a way to turn off the stock quantity so there is no number but more like a yes/no thing, or should I just put a ridiculously large number in for stock like 1000? Thanks! :smile:

Or you could just use the stock configuration options in the Admin to tell your Zen cart to ignore stock levels since you're not using them.

Admin > Configuration > Stock

Well, I don't want to just blanket turn it off for every product. Some stuff I will be keeping in stock and I do want to know when I run low, etc. Other things will be on a special order basis but I want them to show as available in the store. :smile:

In that case you will need to do as you suggested, as there is currently no way of turning stock processing off for some products, but leaving it on for others.
