Shipping and Handling still shows up on free shipping

Hi,
I have searched these forums for hours and found nothing to my problem.
I wanted to have free shipping to everyone and set up the module to FREE SHIPPING only. I can go through the checkout process fine to paypal but when it goes to paypal it will show a shipping and handling fee. How can I get rid of this shipping and handling fee?

What are you seeing on the Shipping and Handling ... and do you mean on the PayPal site or your shop?

If on the PayPal site and it is a value other than $0.00 on Free Shipping, make sure that your PayPal is configured to not manage the shipping for you ...

I created an account and got all the way to PayPal's site before the shipping and handling charges showed up, so I think Ajeh is right - it's in your PayPal configuration.

Thats what I was thinking before but unfortunately that is a site I made for a freind of mine and it goes to her paypal account. I will see if I can get in her account and see what the settings are. I will let you know my results.

i am having the same issue sort of and i do not use Paypal - i use Google. i had ups and usps configured at one time but we had issues with shipping charges being wrong, so my clients decided to go with free shipping. so they built the shipping charges into the item prices, BUT they only ship to US. i found another thread that explained how to do this BUT it doesn't work for me:

it seems that when i have the freeshipper module enabled it doesn't show ups or usps, BUT it offers free nternational shipping which we do not do for free and we do not do via the website only via phone. HOWEVER if i try the option above i would have to disable all shipping modules and use the order totals method, then ups and usps show up any way. i also noticed when i tried to only use ups, that usps would show up as well, even though that module was disabled. i don't know what to do? please help. thanks.

What determines if the order has Free Shipping on your site?

Free Shipping freeshipper is only designed for orders with totally Free Shipping based on

0 weight and you are configured as 0 weight means Free Shipping
Product is marked as Always Free Shipping

While Free Shipping freeshipper does have Zones on it, those are there for consistancy and to enable a coder to work with this and other shipping modules beyond the scope of the default shipping methods that come with Zen Cart ... meaning, the average Joe would never want to set a Zone on Free Shipping freeshipper ...

When Free Shipping freeshipper is showing, all of the other shipping modules are hidden or disabled ... when the other shipping modules are showing, then Free Shipping freeshipper is hidden or disabled ...

Free Shipping Options freeoptions is designed for those who want to offer a Free Shipping alternative to all of the other shipping modules that you may have based on criteria involving Price, Weight or Item Count ...

Free Shipping Options freeoptions does not get hidden or disabled when the other shipping modules show ... and this module can be used with a Zone restriction so that if you want to offer Free Shipping only to the US, or Texas etc. you can set that criteria as well ...

well right now everything is designated freeshipping, because we are having issues with the shipping modules. ie they only wanted to use ups, but even though usps was completely disabled and removed it still keeps showing up. so we built shipping in to the cost and are calling it freeshipping. problem is that i need to only offer free shipping and ordering to the us online as they handle international orders right now via phone. and the free shipper module gives freeshipping domestic and international, so matter what options i have tried. AND i tried the suggestion in the linked post, disabling the freeshipper module (in fact all of the modules) and using the order totals method only, but then ups and usps show up regardless of the fact that they are removed in the shipping modules area. i had this problem with usps as well when we were trying to offer ups only. for some reason even though usps was removed, it would still show up as an option and would show for $1 which was additionally troubling.

however, i now suspect based on what you just posted that possibly because i had it set up for shipping before i have weights on all of the products, maybe this is the problem? i can't work on this tonight, but i will try removing all of the weights and see if that solves the issue. i will post back even if it does - maybe it will help somebody else :) thank you so much for that suggestion. i hope this works. ~®

I have been trying to remove the shipping method from my checkout process. I have tryied many different ways to remove this but I am unable to. The best I was able to do was state.

Will Call To Confirm Shipping Method and Total Cost
Shipping cost has not been estimated there for by default it is set at $0.00

How do I remove the shipping method or at least remove the $0.00?
