Product Listing Page Bug?

Hi all,

Me again. :smile: Sorry to bother. And, not sure whether this question belongs here or elsewhere, and I've just searched over 200 threads for the answer to this and I just can't seem to find an answer! :blush:

First off, I am not using a Template Monster Template. Further, I only made changes to zen-cart's CSS files and several HTML includes, as my knowledge of PHP is amateur at best. However, I am encountering a bug (?) in zen-cart, particularly in the Product Listing page. When I try to access a particular product category, the listed products don't align properly at the first "try". See attached thumbnail:

I call it a "bug" because there is no rhyme or reason as to when this happens. It could be one category one time and then another category another time. It could be the 2nd page of a category one time and then the 3rd page another time. However, if one hits "refresh", all the products align properly. See attached:

I was wondering if this was already a known bug, and if so, is there a fix? I can't seem to find any modules that would fix this. Perhaps it's something as easy as a single line of code? (hehe, wishful thinking!) Oh, BTW, I'm using FF 2.0.....

It's not a bug, it's something wrong with either the html code you are using in the template or the css. You need to post a link to that page so someone can help.

Thanks for your prompt response. (I'm such a newbie that I forgot to subscribe to this thread so I didn't even see that you responded until now!!!) :P

Here is the page. I must admit I mucked around a bit with the CSS to get it to look exactly how the client wants it to look. But I don't think I did anything too drastic (but apparently maybe???)

Yeah, that's what's so frustrating about it. It happens every once in a while and there is no rhyme or reason to it!!! :cry:

Did you try clicking on the other categories? It should rear its ugly head soon enough...

Also, did you happen to take a look at the CSS? Does anything pop out at you funny in your opinion?

Im not so sure why you have table there, since if I remember correctly the grid product listing module from version 1.3.7 and up use div for each product (and float left)

you are now floating the th and td, which may or may not cause that weird problem. But there must be a pattern to it, like that product image is larger than normal etc....

Thanks for your help Yellow. I've removed the float but it's still coming up weird. After more extensive testing, I am finding that this problem is unique to Firefox. :( And I think you're right, something in the code for the grid modue is not jibing with Firefox.....the website was supposed to be launched yesterday and most of his clientele are not very web savvy (I doubt they've even heard of FF) so I'm going to file this in the "unresolved" folder for now....

Is there a newer version out there that I am not aware of? One that uses the divs instead of the tables???

Tables have not been used for this since about ver 1.3.0.1 or so and I just checked one that I installed recently and no tables only div's - div, class=centerBoxContentsProducts

You or someone must have added table code to this - From your source listing:

OK, I think I got to the bottom of this. I actually installed zen-cart through my ISP's cPanel. I ASSUMED it was the latest version, but apparently not!!!

I thought I was losing it for a second there!!! I am doing the website myself and haven't used tables since like 2002!!! :P

I guess this begs the question: do I need to uninstall this version and reinstall the latest? What happens if I stay with this version (1.3.8)??? I really want to avoid having to redo everythng again....:no:

OK I am losing my mind.....I DO have the latest version of zen-cart and the latest version of the column grid module thingy.......and i DIDN'T add any table properties to the source code, nor is this a custom template or anything.............................................

help???!?!? or unresolved???? :(
