Manufacturers in home page

Hi,

Is it possible to have a of manufacturer in homepage instead of categories.
I would like to have this list between the title and new product.

I try to put a php code in "define_main_page.php" but it's not working.
Is somebody know in which page I have to edit to try to get the anufacturer in home page?
