Please help site down

Hi

My site was working perfect last night but this morning i have the message

"There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you."

I have checked my mysql database and it seems fine and ive also checked the configure.php to see if the settings were ok

Everything looks ok, My hosting company are saying that there is no problems at there end

what else should i be checking

Just to let you all know panic over, after asking my host to check the sever mysteriously everythings working again, although they swearblind there was nothing wrong

Misty, that's not necessarily true and one shouldn't paint all Hosters witht the same brush.

Yes, it is a Hoster problem when one sees a msg. like:
"There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you."

A lot depends upon the setup as some Hosters run mySQL on a seperate Server from Apache or perhaps the Tech doing the replying is not aware of what's going on with the Server. And yes, there are some Hosters who really don't pay much attention to things but that's not to say all Hosters do. :wink:
