Magic SEO + Google Adwords problem can cost you big $$$$, be aware !!
Apologies if this is not 100% correct forum, but am posting this as an urgent note to zencart users that also make use of MAGIC SEO and GOOGLE ADWORDS My guess is that there are potentially thousands of users.
This may have been published elsewhere, but as a regular reader , and actively involved in Adwords and Zencart, I did not know, so Im assuming others may not know.
The problem is that if you enable Google analytics on your adwords account, this automatically enables google tagging which appends tags to the querystring that google sends to your website. These tags look like
/?gclid=12345
if you use Magic SEO this will cause a 404 error , therefore WASTING the cost of that adwords click. This little problem has cost me more than $10,000 :(
To fix this ...edit your .htaccess and wherever you see
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^$
replace this with
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^gclid=([a-zA-Z0-9]*)$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^$
