What is "Products URL: (without http://)" ?

When adding new products in Admin, I notice a field called "Products URL: (without http://)" What does that field do? I thought that maybe I could use it to define user friendly URL's for my products, but that doesn't seem to work.

Also on the same note, is there a way to make URL's user friendly without the use of an add-on? For example I would rather have this:

www.mysite.com/bobbleheads/kobebryant

than

www.mysite.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=133

Product's URL is simply a link that by default appears at the bottom of that product's information page and is typically used to link to a manufacturers or suppliers page for the product to give the visitor more information.

If you want "clean" URLs you would need to use one of the add-ons available specifically to achieve this.

I looked on this forum for hours and could not find the answer - I now see the link on the bottom of the product page (in very small print) where I added a friendly URL (anyone clicking there would think I'm unfriendly for taking them to a 404 page.)

Too bad the friendly URL function is not built in, but thanks for the info and quick reply!

Where can I go to move this line "For more information, please visit this product's webpage" found at the bottom of the product page? I would like to move it above the line "This product was added to our catalog on Monday 21 April, 2008."
I would also like to change the font size of the line "For more information, please visit this product's webpage" and possibly the wording!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To change the order in which items appear on your product info page, you would edit your tpl_products_info.php template.

To change font sizes you find the ID or class that describes the text and add a "font-size" style for it to your stylesheet.css file.
