Free Shipping-With Upgrade Choice?

Hi,

I'm trying to furgure out a way to offer free shipping when purchasing over a certain amount, but still have the option to pay for expedited shipping.

ie: Buyer receives free shipping, USPS Parcel Post for purchases greater than $60.00, but would like to pay for item to be shipped via express mail.

Any ideas?

I am very interested in this also. I have search all over the forum and the topic has been covered a few times but there has been no answers.

At the moment my shipping is based on regiontables and free shipping options. I have regular and express options in Region Tables which is fanstastic however I have enabled Free Shipping Options for orders over $75 as i have set my Region Tables to be based on weight not price.

My dilemma is this...when a customer checkouts with an order over $75 they get the option of free shipping which is fine but I would like another option to upgrade to express post in which they would pay a bit extra for if they wish.

I was just wondering if this is possible or if there is an add on for Free Shipping Options as I don't want to touch Region tables as it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Using version 1.3.7.

If you install the Free Shipping Options freeoptions shipping module and set the Total as > XX.XX then it will only show when the order is over that amount ...

This particular Free Shipping module is designed to show with all of the other shipping modules ...

Thanks for your reply. However, I do have the free shipping options installed and it does work with my other shipping module however I was wondering I can modify it in some way so that I can get an upgrade option when over $75.

Just had a search through the downloads section and I can't seem to find anything that is similar. Thanks again.

There isn't anything for "a little bit more ..." unless you custom code for that ...

One way to do that is clone the shipping module that you are currently using for the other charges and set one to run when under $75 and the other to run when $75 or over and manage the shipping that way ...

A search on:
clone flat
clone item

should give you an idea on how this can be done ...

I have the 'Free Shipping Options - freeoptions' mod installed and set to offer free shipping for any order total over $100.

I also have the UPS shipping module installed with several options (UPS ground, Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air).

If the order is under $100, those options show. If it's over $100, the only thing that shows is Free Shipping.

Just like the person who started this thread, I'd like to offer expedited shipping as an upgrade option, but it's not showing up, only the free shipping shows in the checkout process.

Those are the only two shipping mods I have installed. Am I missing something? I've read in this and several other threads that the freeoptions mod is supposed to work in conjunction with any paid shipping methods.

I'm not using any zone shipping or any other method of determining shipping costs.

When I offer Free Shipping, I like to use the Optional Shipping Insurance Module to allow the customer to upgrade, if they so desire.
