I emptied Orders but Numbers didn't reset

I emptied my Orders Tables and then went in and placed a test order. The number didn't reset -- I had previously reset (before emptying the table) my start Order ID to 2800 and the new order got 2801. Where is this stored? Can I reset to zero? Maybe by deleting the entire table Orders and copying over a new copy?

Re: test orders -- how can I test with just cc payment? I currently have COD avail for testing but will deactivate that soon.

Thanks.

Re: I emptied Orders but Numbers didn't reset

admin-tools-store manager "reset current order id" old order id 2801 new order id 0

you could use the zen-cart free charge card to test cc

you could look the order id up in the admin-tools-developers tool kit

I don't think it's possible to decrement the number... (unless you hack the dbase, possibly).

Re: I emptied Orders but Numbers didn't reset

you said you emptied the Orders Tables so there should not be any thing to stop you from resetting that value, i would think! try it.

Re: I emptied Orders but Numbers didn't reset

Uh, oh. I've just made another test purchase. The order shows up in my database (viewing via phpMyAdmin) but not in my order history on the the site (after logging as the customer) nor does it appear under Admin/Orders.

I want to resolve the renumbering issue but at this point want to see the order first!

Any ideas?

I saw on your other post that you resolved the issue -- same resolution on my end too. Phew.

Re: I emptied Orders but Numbers didn't reset

I need to identify my resellers/distributors. So I need to know where the ordrs are coming from so to speak.

Is it possible to change the ordrer numbers to following then let zen cart to increment ?

Old Order ID: 3
New Order ID : JUST-01001 (or similar ) so that newxt order number can be JUST-01002 etc

Thank you
