Im new to this so may be wrong but I think you are confusing the zen sitemap with google sitemap.

The zen sitemap is purely to help your customers if they cant find a specific page.

Google sitemap are entirely different, they are not really for the end-user to view, but are used by spiders like Googlebot which submits your links to google.

A GSM will usually be an xml file or a php file.

There are google sitemap contributions for zen cart but im afraid you'll have to search for them as I cant remember which I used. I think it was google_sitemap_v1.3.1502.11.20070344

Once installed you access it from yoursite/googlesitemap.php and it will generate 4 xml sitemaps for you to submit using your google dashboard.
