Simple event Registration form

I have not had much luck in finding an answer elsewhere, my host (both of them) suggested that a cart might work just as well.

My organization is having a one day event next month, and has a online registration page.

This page was created in Front Page by someone else. The registration page points to a thank you page, which has payment information, and PayPal payment links.

They would like to make change in that at time of registration (registration form) you point directly do Paypal to make payment. A 'simple' cart option appears to be the right idea, but I have no experience with one.

I am looking for a quick, simple and easy option that can resolve this. I have Zen installed, but am having a little trouble sifting around the data and configuration details, and would very much like to get some assistance.

If a cart is not the best way to go,... speak up. I'm just running out of time on this request,.. I'm still working on a whole site re-write as well as day to day computer issues... (one person shop)

We are a NPO, so we have limited resources...

Although you can do this with Zen Cart, it'll take longer than your current time frame.

Consider using a PayPal "add to cart" button. You'll find more info on the PayPal site. I used to use this for a website. Give me a minute and I'll post more info.

Take a look here. If you have a flat rate for registration, this should work for you.

If you're going to have events on a regular basis, you might want to consider setting up a Zen Cart for them.

That is actually what I have set up now. maybe in a different way to how it could be setup. But our registration page has a submit button which logs the registration data, and then goes to the thank you page with three payment options (student, child, adult). Maybe I need to take my submit button and paste it into the Paypal button ,.. I'm not sure...

What you'll have to do is create a PayPal button for each payment type (student, child, adult) so the correct amount will be passed to PayPal.

It's been a while, so I forget exactly how this works, but I believe you can use your own buttons to pass the information to PayPal, so you can label them correctly or you can put the button next to the appropriate text.

If I understand what you explained,... that was the first thing I did,.. and how we have it now...

How they want to change it is simply this: You register, you pay... Right now on registration you are not required to make payment. But you get the option to pay via PayPal using the method you explained...

They want to force payment at time of registration...that way if I register, I pay,.. regardless if I am able or willing to show up the day of the event...

I sorta feel like I am getting :lamo: with this... But it's only my fault. poor planning on my part does not constitute an crisis on anyone else's part.... :frusty:

In that case, it becomes part of your "submit" from your registration page. I had something like that working some time ago. I'll see if I can find it.

One question... does the system know what type of registration they've selected? You can fill the necessary fields for PayPal and pass it off to them.
