1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

If you are running 1.3.8 and want to upgrade to the 1.3.8a version..do you just choose 1.3.7 - 1.3.8 in the installer? If not, how does one upgrade to the 1.3.8a version?

For reference.. does this mean that my database is not up to date but my files.. on my web server are?

Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8
v1.3.8 [2008-04-15 21:58:40] (Version Update 1.3.7->1.3.8)
v1.3.8 [2008-04-15 15:24:05] (Version Update 1.3.7->1.3.8)
v1.3.8 [2008-03-27 19:50:11] (Fresh Installation)

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8

Is correct as there was not a DB alteration in this release

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

So I should have just clicked the update cfg files in the installer.. and this probably has something to do with my log-ins and new customers not being able to register?

Error: There was a security error when trying to login.

does this sound right? I am totally guessing by the way.

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

I don't know how you did this but from what you posted it looks as though you did the 1.3.7 twice...

Hope you have a DB backup from prior to upgrading

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

I do.. but restoring it does not seem to solve the "There was a security error when trying to login." problem. Am I right to think that it should?

I have another store set up that I am testing things on before I do them on the store.angeleyes.org zc.

on this one.. the update took and all is well
store.dollen.com/2

the same efforts produced the above error on this store
store.angeleyes.org

I had some other issues that I am unsure about as well that I got a little help on but with no success. that thread is here http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=541451#post541451
I felt this was a separate issue and didn't want to go off topic on that thread. But who knows, maybe there is a clue in that???

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

What I would do is in a folder and a new DB - install 1.3.8a fresh - apply your DB backup to this new DB after the install - copy your images and any Mod files(should not have to install them as the DB back should have this noted) - just the files

Get that working and you can move it to the location that your current broken cart is

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

Wow that is deep... and profound. Great thought Kobra. I am going to try this now.

.. so this could also be a good way to set up a staging environment for the same site... right?

Thanks for that suggestion. I will be sure to note the success in this thread.

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

Ha.. not a fan I see. until very recently.. the suited me.. but now that I am relying on the uptime.. its been a little sketchy.. what would you suggest?

So if you know DH.. then you might be able to anser this.. in the MYSQL section you can restore a DB... is this the same as backing up.. god I hope so.

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

JFC.....
So I get this error when I try to import the DB

Error

SQL query:

--
-- Dumping data for table zenaddress_book

INSERT INTO zenaddress_book ( address_book_id , customers_id , entry_gender , entry_company , entry_firstname , entry_lastname , entry_street_address , entry_suburb , entry_postcode , entry_city , entry_state , entry_country_id , entry_zone_id )
VALUES ( 3, 3, 'm', '', 'Dan', 'Bartell', '6016 Jay St.', '', '80003', 'Arvada', '', 223, 13 ) ;

MySQL said: Documentation
#1062 - Duplicate entry '3' for key 1

Can I just delete the guy from the Customers section of Admin?
p.s. there is not customer data as yet.. just a couple test customers.

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.8a

I checked and recheck.. my l"- /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_login_default.php

  • /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_timeout_default.php"

files are identical.

I used TextWrangler btw.. I am on a Mac.

Any other things I can chase? Ideas?
