Anyone use Zen for Photo sales?

We currently have a php site specifically designed for online photo sales, made by a company called lightbox. (it was a one-off cost for the software, unlike some others that host it themselves and charge you per upload)

I'm not talking about a gallery of a few hundred photos, we upload entire weddings, about 400+ images per wedding (Currently I think there's 83 weddings on there, and about 37,000 images!! :shocking: )

Anyway, the software doesn't do a couple of things, that I'd really really like implemented, and it's led me to think, there must be a way of doing the same photo sales thing in Zen?

What's scared me the most is adding 500 items at a time. But I guess I can write automatic processes in Access to help populate it, right? Can I do the same in Open Office's Calc program? Or will I end up with a single database file that contains all the 40,000 products, adding a new wedding's 400 images to the end of the file each time. It's not going to work too quickly doing that is it? Or is that OK?

What I'd like added, that the current system doesn't have, is
• The ability to preview the image in black and white-
Is there a product colour option addition for Zen?
• Also, the ability to zoom into part of the image?
Like this example I found a while ago It's so damn slick, I'd love to add it, would that be possible in Zen? How would I code it to load specific images into each place?

Please advise me! Thanks

Ben

Re: Anyone use Zen for Photo sales?

I have seen other Zen Carts used to sell photo prints and can not recall even one??

These were not of the type that you are talking about though - Being that Zen Cart is open source it could be coded to do much of what you want by one that knows the php/mysql & Zen Cart well

This looks to me to be a large task and if you have to hire it done could be quite costly.
