One site - many shops. Multiple payees?

A client has asked me to set up a site that will sell products for many different vendors.

Is there a way to dirrect the checkout process to different payees based on product purchased?

Example: SITE - Buy it Here.whatever
Vendor A sells cars
Vendor B sells cds
Vendor C sells shoes

Customer A wants to buy a car.

Can the checkout be set up to send $$$ to Vendor A's account?

Let's spice this up a bit too, shall we??

Now Customer A wants a car AND shoes. Can the checkout be set up to pay both Vendor A and Vendor C?

Not with the default Zen Cart or any module that I have seen but I have not seen them all.

You might look at some modules for auction?? and what their functionality is or if you can - write the code for this as it will take custom coding
