How do coupons affect reward points?

Coupons don't seem to affect the amount reward points issued. That doesn't seem right. For example, a customer just bought $5 of products, used a $5 coupon to reduce the cost to zero. That customer still earned reward points for the free products.

I want reward points reduced by the coupon amount. Can that be done?

Use the calculate Reward Points on Subtotal rather than on Product and it will cure this

My customers are not receiving their reward points. I have had six customers check out since I installed the module. I even did a purchase myself to be sure. All have the reward points on the invoice, but nothing is pending or earned in their account. What could be the problem?

I have discovered the cause of the missing points. It seems that customers that are not assigned to a pricing group do not earn points. This now leads to two new questions.

1. How can I assign all my customers to one pricing group automatically?
2. How can I have new customers automatically assigned to a pricing group?

Any chance you are running PayPal IPN as your payment module?

Yes, there's an ongoing issue where I can't get it to work properly with the mod- though others here have had success with getting it working- I'm just trying to get my head around the mechanics involved.

You said that others have got it to work so I searched the forum for any instructions on how to fix the module, but I couldn't find anything.

Is there any idea when that problem may be fixed?

It is really too bad, the module seems great in every other respect. If I am not mistaken the most popular payment module is PayPal IPN.

By the way, does PayPal website payments pro work ok?

The problem is at the PayPal end so really it is up to them. And you can use any of the other PayPal payment methods, it's only IPN that does not work.

Apologies if this is written somewhere, i haven't been able to find it. Does this module allow you to award points for actions such as 'customer reviews' or 'tell a friend'.

Not as such, though you can manually add points to people who do these things.

I seem to remember a Reward for Referral request on the wishlist. Should have another look at it over the Christmas break.

Announcement

With the announcement of v2.0.0 of ZenCart imminent I'm going to postpone any further major mods and work on migrating this mod to the new version. I'll still be doing debug versions if needed.

Anyway, everyone have a good Christmas and thanks for all your help and feedback for the Reward Point module.

I've read many pages in this thread, but couldn't find this question. I'm using ZenCart 1.3.6. (done some heavy modification on it and don't have that much time to migrate it to 1.3.8) and managed to install the mod. It shows the points and everything looks ok, the admin section works perfectly, I can assign points and everything. There is just one problem - customer doesn't get the points after making an order, neither pending or rewarded. I'm not using paypal IPN, it was tested on COD and on Invoice, I also use another payment method called Moneta, but first we have to make it work on COD :D Anybody have any idea why this happens?

Hello Andrew,

I loaded all of the Rwards files into the root folder and then ran the "new.sql" patch under Admin>Tools>Install SQL Patches and the Rewards Mod does not show up.

2 things: I am still learning Zen and am not quite sure where in my template to load the "custom" folders and I have (for security) changed the name of the Admin folder.

Any ideas where I am screwing up?

I did find the Rewards points under Modules>Order Total and installed both entries.

Any help as to why it is not showing up in the layout box controller field???

Thank you for the help!!!! Very much appreciated.
I place the "custom" rewards folders in the locations you directed and still I am not seeing the Rewards sidebox in the Layout box controller screen. I ran the "new" sql prior to your directions, should I rerun it? Or is there something else I should check?

:dontgetit Hmmm ... maybe you should look into ADMIN on the layout sceen there is a path where all the sideboxes are stored.
Copy all the files (two to be exact) into that folder, they should appear right away, without any changes in the database.
