How to Link uploaded image with the order to shop owner received email

Hi

Is it possible to link or even better attach the image has been uploaded by the customer to send to the store owner with the order details?

And further

Is it also possible to place the uploaded image name.XXX to the subject line to the emails send to the store owner with the order details?

This could be a business similar to T shirt business where customers upload images and send TEXT with their orders.

In my case I like to have both may be separated by "-" on the subject line.

Text

Have no idea where to start. I appreciate your help

many thanks

Re: How to Link uploaded image with the order to shop owner received email

There are some practical issues that will influence the construction of code that makes this work.

Firstly, images uploaded by the customer are LARGE (they have to be if they are intended to be reproduced on a t-shirt.

Secondly, you have no idea what NAME customers are going to give to their images - what if every customer calls their image "shirt.jpg)? Your module will have to create a separate directory to accommodate different images with the same name.

Also, the module will have to create a thumbnail from the main image...

It's probably possible, but the work involved would probably not make it worthwhile for a forum poster (unless you were prepared to pay commercial rates).

Re: How to Link uploaded image with the order to shop owner received email

Hi again

Ok now I have set up FTP account through the cPanel for the client to download. When I FTP it logs in and goes to a folder"/' with nothing showing.

How do I see the uploaded images?
I have not changed any permissions since zencart installed.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Are you aware of the image upload feature inherent in zencart? It is managed by the Attributes modules.

So, if you sell t-shirts where the customer can provide an image that must appear on their t-shirt, zencart can already do this for you. No need to tinker with ftp stuff at all.

When the customer places an order for a t-shirt, they "browse" (on their computer) for the image, attach this to their order, and submit the order in the normal way.

The image is referenced automatically by zencart, ensuring that you can "link" the image to the relevant order.

The images are stored in the UPLOADS folder.

... Oh, just a quick explanation...

When you set this up using the OPTION NAMES feature, the OPTION TYPE to select is "File".

Re: How to Link uploaded image with the order to shop owner received email

PS: there is a .htaccess file with this in it . Even deleting that line will not let me see the image.jpg files . There are 12+ images there so its not empty.

<Files *>
Order Deny,Allow
Deny from all
</Files>

Yes uploads are fine. Its the downloading the uploaded image files is my problem now. As I said I have set up the FTP to download. Like you said customers upload the images BUT how do I get them my self. I know I have to use FTP which I have and can login to the server but I want to make sure it only logs into that upload folder NOTHING ELSE. As my client going to use it I do not want them to wonder around the files. They should be able just go to the directory where they can download their customer's images.

I hope its clear as mud :-)

Ah, I see what you mean now... you want your client to have LIMITED ftp access so they don't fool about with core files!

You may be able to do something in your host C-Panel - see what options are available for public ftp settings. As this is essentially not a zencart issue, you may have to contact your host to discuss solutions. A custom script may be needed to have the images "copied" to another directory - or perhaps even to your client's hard drive...
