Main Page - Logo and HEADER_ALT_TEXT

I have two items appearing within the logo area and have not been able to remove them. HEADER_ALT_TEXT and HEADER_SALES_TEXT are appearing in front of the logo. Please see attachment (the red areas contain the problems). The template I am starting out with is future_zen. :frusty:

This is the easiest way to find the file

Developers Tool Kit

admin panel/ tools/ developers tool kit/

  1. In the bottom box (left hand corner) enter in HEADER_ALT_TEXT
  2. Click the drop down menu under all files and chose the top option (catalog/admin)
  3. Click search, and WALA, you will find the files associated with the search.
  4. And you can open that file in a good text editor and change the Wording, or eliminate it leaving only the two single quotes ''.
  5. The two single quotes '' must always stay.

Re: Main Page - Logo and HEADER_ALT_TEXT

Thanks for showing me a great way to find things. The search returned 9 programs and through trial-and-error, I found what I needed to change in tpl_header.php. Now the only item left on top of the logo is a small box with an x in it ( a link indicator). Now all I need to do is find how that is being set in this program.

Re: Main Page - Logo and HEADER_ALT_TEXT

Once again thanks. Adding that to the stylesheet did it. I am thankful for your quick responses in helping a newbie. I only hope to do the same once I get all this right in my head and understand just what this CSS is all about.

Re: Main Page - Logo and HEADER_ALT_TEXT

Yes and created my own area. It was my first attempt yesterday. If you had not told me about the stylesheet I would still be wondering about doing code changing and testing, as well as, trying to find info within the forum. :frusty:(by the way I wanted to see who was haredo and found the "hair" site and have sent the link to my wife...she will be spending some cash sometime this week for the product).

I am not exactly sure I have the hang of the override, but I am sure if I play around some more it will all fall in place. A friend of mine had me convinced to use osCommerce. I discovered zen-cart only after my daughter's hosting site (godaddy.com) supported it without an additional cost that the site had for using osCommerce. I have spent the last couple of weeks reading about OSC and I can say Zen-Cart is more user-friendly to non-programming types.

H,
You don't need to purchase my little toy I created 22 years ago..

The override system is all about the next release of Zen Cart. When you upload the new version all core files will be overridden, so your custom folder you created to change the view of your cart stays intack.

Just think if you developed the whole site in classic, when you upgrade the dreaded white screen of death. Alway create a full back up of zen files, database.

Pm me your site, I will check it out for little tweaks..
