Lost at step 1 already

Newb user and admitting it up front. Ha!

OK. I have a control panel. ZenCart is an option.

At https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=268 on step 6, where/how do I check/set permissions? I don't see it in my MySql server options. I don't see it in FTP ( an old proggie I can't remember allowed me to CHMOD ). I am now using WSftpLE.

///

I also went to install. Clicked my ZenCart checkbox on my control panel, and the 1st question was database pword, which I have. It's the 2nd question that bugs me- default url. It's set at Zencart. I am not sure wtf that means, and I do NOT want to install it in my root www directory as I already have a live site. I want to install it in an internal directory I've created at http://mydomain.com/handmade-cigar-store/

So, do I put in the http, https, or just mydomain.com/handmade-cigar-store/, or just handmade-cigar-store? What's the installer gui requiring here?

So, I bailed on the install only because of that sticky wicket. The rest it 'asks' for is quite cut & dry.

I looked at the FAQ but it doesn't help.

Any help to get moving along would be appreciated.

TIA

Mike

PS- I'm SURE I'll have more questions.

When it asks you for your site URL, give it the name of the URL where your Zen Cart files have been copied to. If it's already suggesting a folder named "zencart", then that's where it's already put the files. If you want to rename that folder before running install, go ahead and do that with your FTP program, and start the installer again. If you rename it after install, then you have a lot more work to do with changing various settings.
