Help with main background, add to cart buttons and others

Hi,
I've no experience with this kind of stuff really. I bought a package from some woman and did not get what I paid for.

A few things I really need help with:

I need to know how to change the main background on the page. It's seriously Christmas green and it looks awful. I have no idea where or how to change this.
I also need to replace the top main logo picture with a tweaked one. I replace the one that was there in /www/templates/debi/images with the new one (just did overwrite) but it's still not showing up with the new one.

I also would like to know how to change the add to cart button to match my site. I know I will need to make new ones this is fine but haw and where do I go about putting the new gifs in? I tried to follow some of the other directions in some other posts but I think i'm having trouble locating certain things because a custom template is being used?

I don't know if you can change the background colour, it looks like it actually an image because of the rattles, unless they have a transparent background.

As for the buttons, I have a custom page, but I changed the buttons in the default file and it worked for me, might be worth a try. Firstly, I made all the buttons I wanted at https://www.grsites.com you can use any of their images or upload your own image to be used & its a free site to use. I simply renamed the button with the exact same name already in the file, so I didn't have to hunt down any coding.

Go to: includes / templates / template_default / buttons / english and all the buttons are listed there. Or try replacing 'template_default' with the name of your custom file and see if the buttons folder is there.

SageWhite is correct. The green background is an image. You might be able to change it with an image editor like PhotoShop or PaintShopPro.

The logo image is stored at http://mommymilktanks.com/includes/templates/debitemplate/images/logo.gif. Is that the location you uploaded your "tweaked" version to?

You might want to consider getting the FireFox browser with the web developer add on which allows you to see what's what.

Does SeaMonkey have the web developer add on too or do you jave to have just FireFox? I currently am using Seamonkey and do not see that web developer add-on and I am interested in what it is!

I don't know anything about SeaMonkey, so I can't really answer that question.

FireFox is a browser. Among other things, the web developer add-on allows you to edit the stylesheet and see the changes on the fly. The changes have to be saved uploaded to the site separately.

Thank you sage and afo. I'll have to try these things, I have been searching through all the folders and stuff.
I know that the backgroung needs to be changed to a new image background and I've made one but just didn't know where to put it so it would replace it. I'm still a little confused on that but i'm going to keep looking. I just can't seem to find the file for the background so I can upload the new one and rewrite the old one.

I actually have firefox and seamonkey. Can you tell me where I find these add ons for firefox? I ususally only use firefox but after installing Vista I'm having some problems with it....go figure!

I'm going to try some of the things and locations explaind here.

Yes, this is what I named it and the location I uploaded it to, or so I thought. I guess I did something wrong.

That's the location it needs to go into. Check with your FTP program.
