Having layout troubles building my new template

I know enough css and html to do some modifications to my zen cart. I'm working on a zencart redesign and am having a big problem. I think I just don't know what file to edit. GRR! I have my template installed on a test site and there are two problems with it. See screenshot below or visit test shop HERE.

In the preview above when I say that this code is without background or color codes I'm talking about the #headerWrapper in my main stylesheet file. The only place I have the cardboard coded in is in the #mainwrapper in my stylesheet file. I want to get completely rid of the cardboard in the header area but keep it in the body and make it show up behind the side boxes. Hope I made clear what I'm looking for. If not oh well. I'm so confused and have spent many hours on my site redesign to give up on it. I've tried editing the tpl_header file and the tpl_main_page file. I've even tried editing my main stylesheet file. I'm so confused I may have even mess up in naming stuff in my post. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Re: Having layout troubles building my new template

I can't help with the first part, but to change the bottom boxes, you need to go into the CSS sheet and make a few changes. You can find it here: includes/templates/YOUR CUSTOM TEMPLATE/css/CSS STYLE SHEET

Find

.sideBoxContent {
background-color: #e3bedd;
padding: 0.4em;
}

Change it to:
background-image: url(../images/NAME OF IMAGE.jpg);
sideBoxContent {
background-color: #e3bedd;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
padding: 0.4em;

It can be the same image you have as the background as it won't show outside the dimensions of the box.

Or you can look at turning the boxes off in admin.
