Controling inventory by attributes

Is there any way to control the inventory using attributes?

Like: The item has 3 attributes.
One of those attributes is 'Out of Stock' right now.
Can I flag it, so the user will not be able to choose it, or at least will see that that attribute is not available now?

THank you

Re: Controling inventory by attributes

You might look at Kuroi's Stock by Attributes mod in Downloads.

Re: Controling inventory by attributes

hi gjh42,
I read that post Invetory by attributs

and it's dated from Sept/2006 to April 2008 and since the first post it mentions that feature will be incorporated on Zen Car, so I was wondering if we have something after 18 months :), but the last posts still saying it will be on a future 1.4 version.

I try to keep my zen cart as much as possible 'standard' because I'm not a real PHP/Mysql guy :( :(
Would be hard in a future upgrade if I have to find what I change what is not.

But thank you for pointing out and I may wait for the 1.4 them.

Re: Controling inventory by attributes

I haven't looked at the Stock by Attributes code, but from Kuroi I would expect it to be thoroughly documented with clear instructions for installation and use, and removal if desired. You will not have to be making manual changes in files, for the most part anyway.

I wouldn't expect v1.4 much before the end of the year, so you might want to do something now.
