How to tell category_row.php not to add image

category_row.php appears to insert a small gif (pixel_trans.gif) when an image isn't included with a subcategory.
How can I tell it not to?

Since all of my site's images are bordered through the stylesheet, the tiny gif also gets a border which makes them all visible (see attached).

How do I tell the script not to insert the pixel_trans.gif substitute when a category image is not present?

Just the CUSTOM which I've made myself. I'm not using any premade template.

Just a little cosmetics...

admin panel/ configuration/ maximum values/ **Categories To List Per Row
**1. default is 3
2. change to 5 or 6

Re: How to tell category_row.php not to add image

I'm already set to 5.
But while I was digging around the category_row.php file I switched the [row] and [col] positions.

$list_box_contents[$col][$row]
This made the subcategories line up vertically (which I wanted). So I think instead a little centering might do the trick.

Re: How to tell category_row.php not to add image

Hi. Thanks for that bit of info, I've been searching for a long time how to change the number of categories in a row. However I'm still tearing my hair out about how to achieve exactly what my client has asked me to do.

I have 9 top categories, 3 rows of 3, which appear on the homepage. That's sorted. However I need each of these categories to appear in a box 142px by 240px with an image, title, category description and 'view' button all included. Then when the user clicks on these and goes to a subcategory the subcategories need to be listed with 1 category per row, again with boxes (wider this time) containg an image and info. Then when they click on this I need them to go to a product listing (same layout as subcategory listing above) and then finally the product itself. You can see what I need to replicate here: https://www.kitchenfitters.ie.

I can control everything in zencart except for these issues, which is a pity since these issues are critical to whether the site works or not the way it should. I've looked all over - google, the zencart forums, youtube, the zencart documentation, innumerable php files within the zencart system itself - and I can't find any info on this simple thing. Strange considering that such info must surely be absolutely an imperative thing to know in order to use this software and have true full control of it.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me sort this out once and for all. Thank you.

S,
I navigated through the site you are wanting to duplicate.
Zen will allow you to set up this.
You will need to hard code the view button using .php language..

I am sending u a pm also

Re: How to tell category_row.php not to add image

bump

Hi, was wondering if anyone still has any idea how to do this? Basically how do I make the layout of the subcategories different from the layout of the top level categories? Thanks.
