Re: all products page not showing any products?

This is because you have some big images. So big that the image libraries that are used by Image Handler choke on the processing involved, curl up their toes, and die, so the page goes no further (note the absence of a footer).

To resolve this, use your FTP client to view your site's images folder and sort it by file size. Then use a graphics program to optimise the largest files and use the results to replace the files that are there currently.

Continue until that page starts to function properly (or better still continue down until all your images are optimised - but I suspect you have rather a lot - though you could batch process them with Photoshop or a number of free utilities for which you could Google).

Re: all products page not showing any products?

hello

ok i found about 100 images which we're 500k, they are now all 50k.

the products images range from 30k - 80k each

but this hasn't fixed the problem of showing all the products?

thanks

Re: all products page not showing any products?

You still have some very large images on your site. For example clicking on the Aida category requires 3.5Mb of images to be downloaded for that page alone. Arts & Crafts is even worse, requiring 4.8Mb of images.

However, these wouldn't normally cause the problem that you are reporting. That's usually product images. You have reduced the filesizes, but did you also look at the raw image sizes, i.e the height and width of the image. Where I have seen this problem in the past, the cause has appeared to be a combination of image size and filesize, but I haven't been able to ascertain precisely how they are interacting to cause the problem (that's buried deep inside an external image library).

As a precaution it would also be worth installing the Zen Cart debug mod, as that will show whether this is actually a PHP problem and not the image library problem at all.

Re: all products page not showing any products?

the image sizes on the products are 400x300 pixels? would you suggest smaller then? as i thought that was pretty small

i have firebug on and the website doesn't give me any errors?

Re: all products page not showing any products?

No 400x300 should be fine. However, your problem is on your server, so Firebug wouldn't report it as it only sees what happens in your browser. So you still need the debug add-in to see what's happening on your server.

Re: all products page not showing any products?

Another approach to tracking this down (just whispered in my ear) would be to switch back to the classic template for a few moments and see whether or not the page builds properly and the images display.

If it does it suggests as problem with the template code. If not it would strongly hint that the problem is still with the images.

where to start? hahaCan't take credit for the idea (it was whispered in my ear by a small fairytale creature). From here, the way forward is still to install the debug mod, which will hopefully yield the PHP error that causes the page to terminate prematurely, together with the specific module, line number and reason that it fails.

Re: all products page not showing any products?

The apparent absence of the normal english.php file is interesting! But this is the source of your problem "includes/templates/dscrossstitch/templates/tpl_modules_products_all_listing.php on line 214" There's a syntax error there. Look at the line immediately above too as sometimes that's where the problem lies.
