product page as homepage / check out button

I have one product for sale with a couple of attributes (options).
From the original website there is a "I buy Now" button to land on the Zen sale page.

I need help with two Questions:
1: is it possible to have this page:
http://hopmanhome.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=2
as the home page?
I know I can use this link from ny website but as soon the customers go back and forward in Zen he will get confused to come on a other home page.

2: on the product webpage is a "add this to my cart" button. I am looking for a "check out" button in stead. this feature is available in the header link but it is much more logic to have this in the middle of the page (on the spot of add this to my cart)

If you do not want a left column

admin > config > layout settings > Column Left Status - Global > set to "0"

Try some of these settings

admin > config > layout settings > Customer Greeting - Show on Index Page
admin > config > layout settings > Categories - Always Show on Main Page
admin > config > layout settings > Main Page - Opens with Category

I updated the settings as proposed.

Do still see same content on http://hopmanhome.com/zen/ in stead of the content of
http://hopmanhome.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=2
on the homepage. Is it possible to change this?

Also are there ideas to have the check out button on this page in stead of the add to the cart button?

I would also like this functionality.

It certainly would make more sense to have a goto checkout button just below the add the cart button.

Does any one know how to do this?

Until you have the item in your cart, going to checkout won't help you. You will need to include the add functionality into the checkout button.

sure...

it will just say

"Your Shopping Cart is empty."

if you dont have anything in it... but if you have things in it you will be able to goto the checkout

I just tried the following advice and it worked.

Make sure your Admin -> Configuration -> My Store -> Display Cart After Adding Product = True

Open file:

/includes/init_includes/init_cart_handler.php

Look for the following:

PHP:

if (DISPLAY_CART == 'true') {
$goto = FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART;

Change: FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART to FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING

Once this is done and your customer clicks that button to add the item to the cart, it adds it and takes them directly to Checkout. Since Checkout requires a login process, it asked for a username/password on my site. Maybe your is setup different and it will not ask.

Make a backup of that file before doing anything. If this doesn't work or it's wrong advice, you will be able to just restore the backup file and be back to where you are now.

I am still not sure if I am going to use it. Sometimes you see only one page with a product (with some selectable options) and check out fill out information. This make it look very simple and is, I think, very convenient for the customer.

I was not able to find this kind of page on ZenCart. If somebody could help me with this I would appreciated it.
