Zencart shopping basket problems

Hi,

I have noticed some problems, they do not alway occur but they happen in a few browsers. Basically what happens is if a customer adds an item to the shopping cart it works. If I then say open up another tab, then it is pot luck if I add another item to the shopping cart using the new tab that it remembers the first item... does anyone else notice this problem?

Can anyone help me please

My website is https://www.timani-ltd.co.uk

Thanks in advance.... ps I've also tested out a couple of other sites and it appears to do the same thing...

Thanks

Tim

Re: Zencart shopping basket problems

Opening the same site in a new tab is likely to create another session ID, so you'll look like two separate visitors to the site.

Re: Zencart shopping basket problems

Ok no problems, just sometimes it works and others it does not. I tried it out a few times and it will be a pain, if people are like me adding several items into the basket but then you look at something in a different window and add the item but then it defaults back to just that item in the shopping cart... does anyone know how to make the browser keep the session id in cookies?

I've been to many websites before and added items to the basket, I then go back within 30 days then the items are still there even though I don't have an account.....

Thanks for your help

Re: Zencart shopping basket problems

Sorry, but you are expecting behavior that is not built into Zen Cart. The default behavior is that guest carts (not logged in) are not saved after the session expires. Member carts (logged in) are saved if the member lets their session expire.

Zen Cart does not store the cart contents on a cookie and that is how the other carts are saving the cart contents, logged in or not.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.
