Linkpoint won't connect

I ahve followed all the tutorials and instructions for setting this up. Got my SSL cert working but I can't seem to get the checkout to work with credit cards through the linkpoint API. It sits in the finla page forever then goes to a totally blank page, no errors or anything.

... I already checked with my host and port 1129 is open and i got the info from the curltest.php here it is:

28 connect() timed out!

Array
(
[url] => "https://secure.linkpt.net:1129/LSGSXML"

Any ideas what I may have set up wrong?

Tell your host that when you're attempting to connect to https://secure.linkpt.net:1129 that the server is timing out the connection.
This is likely a DNS or nameserver setting issue on the server's internal configuration.
Either that or the port 1129 is not actually open.

You've done nothing wrong. But your host has ...

Re: Linkpoint won't connect

OK last night I must have had a moron in tech support. I host at godaddy and the port 1129 is NOT open and can't be opened. They said maybe there is a proxie way to get to it.

They said that linkpoint is not compatible with them but I find it hard to believe that of all of the people using zencart and linkpoint that NO ONE has it working on a godaddy hosted site!

I really don't wanna change my merchant account or go to the trouble of moving to a new host.

PLEASE tell me I don't have to do that!

Re: Linkpoint won't connect

  1. GoDaddy is great at selling domain names. They should have stopped at that, since they have no clue about anything else.

  2. Despite my own specific dealings with senior tech staff at GoDaddy, they still can't seem to find it important to open port 1129 unless you buy their advanced dedicated hosting. They've even stopped responding to inquiries about the status of their promise to open it ... Don't hold out any hope from them. They clearly don't care about their customers. All they care about is collecting money from you ... not about helping you be able to collect it from your clients.

  3. If you signed up for your Linkpoint account by way of the link on the Zen Cart "partners" page, call up the people who approved your application, as they can switch your existing account to use a different gateway that won't be blocked by GoDaddy's incompetence.

  4. I suggest that you give consideration to checking out a new host down the road. You don't have to do it immediately ... but when the frustration mounts, it's always good to have an exit strategy prepared. Check out the recommended hosts on the "hosting" link above.
