My search really slow with 655000 products?

I loaded 655000 products in to our database, the problem I have now is that things got a little bit slower, it's not too noticeable on the rest of the site but when you search for a product it takes 15 seconds, being optimistic. I wonder if there is a way I could make it take less, may be by optimizing the search query. I just wonder if someone else has gone through this before and could help me out, any response is appreciated though, thanks for your help.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but could you post a link to your site? I'd like to see a Zencart installation with 655,000 products.

Optimizing the queries is key to this as is a properly configured server of MySQL and php ...

A chance to look at your shop would be of help, as would a PM to me if it is possible to get a copy of your database to work with to see where better optimization would help a shop like your's ...

Slowness in this is most likely due to your host configuration for php/mysql and not by the search query code

My hosting company is blue host, here is the website https://www.bookdevils.com, by the way I have 655000 products in the database. All products are in the "OTHERS" category.

Your other forum posts talk about trying to find ways to do mass direct imports of data, and that you are using an SEO URL module.

Have you checked to be sure that you're importing all your data correctly, and haven't missed crucial pieces of related data?

Additionally, your duplicate threads on search issues have been combined into one.

Actually, your LPC Book Search drop box errors "No input file specified" so it appears that some cross indexing might be missing
