Tutorial for Zencart on a WampServer 2

Hello, I was making a new tutorial to show all the steps that’s involved from installing the new WampServer 2 to installing Zencart on your PC for test purposes. Anyway, I wanted some criticism or appraisals before I upload the final .pdf file to the downloads section.

I had to post it on RapidShare since it is 2.35MB Zipped due to all the pictures :P here is the **download link**.

working through your tutorial for zen on wamp

I get to step 4 of installing zencart on my new wampserver and I have followed all detail to letter and upto now it has worked perfectly

but when i type in to browser hxxp://localhost/zcinstall/index.php it cannot find url?

Please help I would really like to get the up and running

What are you wanting to do? Do you have it installed and wanting to view the website? Are you wanting to start the install of Zencart? Let me know and I can help you further...

Sorry madge33 I had to look and see where you were at in the Tut. Ok, so far you have installed the WampServer 2 on your PC right? Ok, the next step is to install Zencart. Try this way it might be easer for you to do.

1. Make sure the little tray icon is all white.
2. Left click on the tray icon and select Localhost at the top.
3. Now a page will open up in your browser.
4. Now look for the large black letters YOUR PROJECTS
5. There should be a folder named whatever you named your website.
6. Just click on the folder/name and it will start Zencart install.

NOTE: If you dont have a Folder in YOUR PROJECTS then you need to make one and name it something Example: "Your website Name" then put all the zencart files "not the folder" you downloaded from here into the "Your website name" folder. The folder im talking about would be located here if you installed WampServer onto your C:

C:/Wamp5/wamp/www/Your Website name/all the zencart files

It seems you didnt make a folder and put the zencart files in it.Hope this help! Let me know if it did....:P

Is this different than the XAMPP server installation described in Goh's book and the Videos I created on ipicdg.com/EC/ ???????

I'm curious as to why you would want to use WampServer instead of XAMPP when XAMPP appears to have more features built into it.

I looked for your book/videos on XAMPP and I found it very hard to navigate the website so I just gave up! I made this tut for people to get started with Zencart on thier PC. It is easy to install and run if you follow the directions. If you like XAMPP then post a tutorial like I did so others can benifit! Thats what this website is all about! "Helping others get started" :D
