Special Shipping for Group

I am offering a membership on a website which will give my custmers 50% shipping. I am having trouble trying to figure out how to give members 50% shipping. I have already put them in a pricing group in which they receive 10% products. Can someone help me with the discounted shipping? Thanks!!

What shipping modules are you using on your site?

You could add a validation on the customer for their customers_group_pricing code and then include a discount on the shipping costs once calculated in the Table Rate table shipping module ...

if (customer is correct group) {
// do something such as take calc cost and multiply by .50
} else {
// don't do something and just use calc cost
}

You'd have to dig up the correct syntax for this ... but that is the basic logic ...
