Payment options not showing

I've been using zen-cart for a couple of years now and love it. (And made a nice donation, getting a beautiful zen-cart hat in return.) I've been offering credit cards and paypal as options. But I have decided to offer checks/money orders also. I have enabled it and set it as true. But I only see a yellow dot instead of a green, as with my other options. It also does not show up when making a purchase.
Is there some other setting?
I don't have zones or other restrictions. I sell a digital product and plan on just trusting the purchaser to send their money, since my cost is zero anyway.
Advice anyone?

The Check/MoneyOrder module will show a yellow dot if it's set to "Enabled = false".

Yes, but on the payments modules page:

Enable Check/Money Order Module
Do you want to accept Check/Money Order payments?

I have it set to true, and have saved those changes. But still the yellow dot.

I can't make that happen on a clean uncustomized install of v1.3.8a. The only thing that makes it go yellow for me is setting Enabled=False.

I'm using 1.3.7.
Is there a work around?
I don't want to have to update my version.
I don't mind changing a little php if I need to, but I need to be told what to do.

The core code for displaying the yellow/red/green icons on that page didn't change between 1.3.7 and 1.3.8

Did you try clicking "Remove" and then click "Install" and set the payee name again?

Yes, I did. But still yellow. (:-(

In what ways is your site different from a clean uncustomized fresh new install of Zen Cart?

I have a custom header and some other minor changes that effect the overall look in small ways. But the cart functions remain the same. I did not create a custom template, which I realize I should have done because then future upgrades would have been easier.

What sort order do you have set on the module?

I actually had them all set to zero, which worked out fine because paypal went into 2nd position which is what I wanted. But now I just put credit card at 1, paypal at 2, and check/money order at 3. But still the yellow dot, and it is not appearing in the cart as an option.

Puzzling. I can't seem to reproduce that problem. And, studying the code, there seems to be no reason for the yellow indicator unless:

• module is set as enabled = false
• zone is set to something other than -None-
• sort order is blank
  Those are the only things that would trigger that if the code hasn't been customized otherwise.

Thank you for trying. Maybe it has something to do with cybersource. But probably not. I think I'll call it quits for now.
