Possible to grab xml post data to create a product to add to cart?
hey ya'll, so I'm looking at different ways of implementing something...
I have a catalog I am able to retrieve product information from a website which when "add to cart" is clicked, on a particular product, it will send xml data via a FORM-POST to a url of my choosing. I can't seem to find out if it is possible to have zencart be able to utillize this xml data about the product, ie:
<Root>
<Item basket_id=”number I create”>
<ItemID>AAA</ItemID>
<Description>Textual description</Description>
<Quantity>Number</Quantity>
<Price>Number</Price>
<DimensionA>Usually a number</DimensionA>
<DimensionB> Usually a number </ DimensionB>
</Item>
</Root>
and add it to a basket/cart in zencart. From what I have been able to gather, the only items that are 'addable' to a cart in zencart are products created within the zencart software itself -- in other words, I believe I cannot use external (to zencart) data to add a product into a cart -- is that correct, or is this actually possible? (or is what I'm trying to do totally not clear, haha?)
