Different shipping for differente categories

In my webshop I have:

free shipping for Portugal
courier shipping for Portugal
flat rate for all other countries

No I want to add a new category of products that will have specific shipping costs:

free shipping for Portugal
flat rate for all other countries

I want this category to NOT have the courier shipping for Portugal

How can I do this? I tried to install the "flat rate shipping based on uk/eu and row and product category" module but it didn't work...

Any help?

This add-on looks very promising. I haven't purchased it yet, but it seems very comprehensive.

Thanks. I'm aware of that add-on but it's quite expensive for what it does... I'm looking for a "free" solution... ;)
