Setting Up Shipping Prices based on categories or Based on Table?

Iam trying to set up a shipping table based on the categories ID.
For example: Iam selling aftermarket Car Parts Which Include different categories, Some of the products ship for a small amount and others can be up to $200.
For example: a full body kit ships for $175, front grille ships for $19 and headlights ship for $22.

Is there a way to set all that up in a table or something simillar to that.

I have read something about having 2 different rates but I might need more than 5 different rates set up in the back end of the store so the customers will only see the shipping charges for the items in the shopping cart.

Re: Setting Up Shipping Prices based on categories or Based on Table?

Have you looked into the Per Unit perweightunit Shipping Module where the products_weight is used as the actual Shipping Cost?

This module can then be cloned for various Zones and the Unit Rate can be adjusted per Zone to increase/decrease the charge ...
