USPS Shipping charges are quoting too high

Hi everybody,

I am at the end of my understanding here, :shocking:
Any help will be greatly appreciated....

I have USPS module installed, and also updated acoording to those new changes on 12th May.
I am shipping domestic and international, based on weight.
But all the charges for the shipping are outrageously high.
Like they are estimating a cost for shipping of a book internationally at 37$....

I have contacted USPS, and that is their answer:
"You need Rate V3 instead of Rate V2. Your Zen cart should have already changed it automatically. If it didnt change for you, you need to contact Zencart support."

That is nonsense in my eyes, but I really do not know what to do, as of course nobody will buy a book of 12$ with a weight of 0.5 lbs to pay a shipping of 37 for it....

Can anyone please point me to the right direction????

have you changed your tare weight under configuration...shipping?

No, I didn't.....

I got the same problem with Carissa, according to peale's suggestion I puted 0:0 on configuration-->Shipping/Packaging, but USPS Shipping charges are quoting too low after setting up. is there anything I was missing? Many thanks!

Check the setting on Machinable packages as well as this can alter prices ...

For International orders the shipping estimator (as well as the actual shipping costs) do not show the cost for first class international rates, only the priority and express rates show up. I saw many customers come online to buy and disappeared due to this as the rates for priority or express are way higher than first class. What is going on here? This all used to work just about a month ago as I got international orders at that time. I am using Zencart 1.3.7.

I think I found it. It looks like it just fixes international shipping issues.
