eCheques and downloadable products

Hi,

I run an online store selling digital downloadable products. Every order that I get is paid by Paypal, and is usually instant payment allowing an instant download of the product.

I recently had a customer who bought quite a large amount from my store and paid by eCheque, the order went through paypal, and even although the eCheque was pending the customer received the links to the product, downloaded it and then promptly cancelled the eCheque payment. So I have received no funds.

Is there any way of not allowing eCheques as a payment method in Zencart, just instant payment from Paypal?

I am sorry if this is obvious, but I am so hacked off, and I would love to change the setting if there is one right now!

Thanks!

Hi there
I do not have an answer for you but thought that I would mention what happens to us with eCheques.
We only sell physical products and all works well with PayPal payments unless it is an echeque, in which case we receive the PayPal (pending) payment notification however the order doesn't appear in ZC at all.

Re: eCheques and downloadable products

There were known issues with echecks not generating orders in older versions of Zen Cart.

However, an order paid-for by echeck could only be made available for download if you've got your PayPal module settings' order-status set to Processing even for Pending transactions ... or if you've got your store's attribute settings for downloads set to allow download even if an order is only in pending status.

Re: eCheques and downloadable products

This may work/be suitable alternative..
At Paypal.com..login and then choose Profile,
then Payment receiving preferences..
then
Block the following payments:
Pay with eCheck for website and Smart Logo payments, or German bank transfer for all website payments except eBay.
